Unistone GRC Elevates AIIMS Bilaspur with a Blend of Panels and Jali
The AIIMS Bilaspur project in Himachal Pradesh was a unique challenge due to the architect’s vision of incorporating stone cladding with a soft greenish hue that mirrors the natural stone prevalent in the region. UniStone was pivotal in this project, developing various stone panels using GRC (Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete) material.

- Natural Stone-Look GRC Panels:
- Multiple types of stone panels were created in GRC material, striving for a natural stone appearance.
- After extensive development, panels with a 3D natural stone look were selected.
- These panels were produced in multiple sizes to meet the aesthetic and functional requirements of different building sections.
- Timber-Look Bands:
- To add a unique touch, bands with the appearance of timber were interspersed between the stone-look panels.
- This combination of stone and timber aesthetics provided a distinctive, regionally inspired facade.
- Dholpur Stone GRC Panels:
- In specific areas, Dholpur stone GRC wall panels were utilized.
- These panels contributed to the authentic look and feel desired by the architect, blending seamlessly with the overall design.
- Mansaad Panels for Rooftop:
- For the rooftop, dark grey Mansaad panels were developed and installed.
- These panels were designed to be installed on an incline, enhancing the building’s visual appeal and providing durability against the elements.
- Geometric Pattern GRC Screens:
- GRC panel screens featuring square and rectangle geometric patterns were incorporated into the design.
- These screens not only added to the visual interest but also provided functional benefits such as shading and privacy.
