UNISTONE LEONARDO

LEONARDO

NATURAL STONE PROUDLY MANUFACTURED

There is nothing more complex than a material sculpted by nature. It takes year of technological development to replicate the essence of the simple action of the air or water, an incomparable feature of the passing of time.

A Passion for stone has driven us for 35 years in the reproduction of an innovative material, which is capable of expressing the same sensations as its original predecessor, but has reached a level of maturity and exceptional quality that exceeds it in terms of technology and versatility of use. It is due to many innovations that we can create numerous authentic stone features in a wide range of shades that nature offers. Each stone is coloured exclusively by hand and it is only by doing so that the hues and features of time can be reproduced, which is impossible even to achieve with a natural cut, turning it into a unique craft material.

DESIGN WITHOUT LIMITS

A wonderful opportunity for designers and architects.
UniStone places no limits on the aesthetic design of facades, in any architectural style, ranging from mountain  chalets to medieval districts, contemporary villas to typical country dwellings, while also complying with construction and living requirements.

Be it timber, glass, Corten steel, aluminium, copper or cement, any modern design material matches stone beautifully.
Leonardo is a special material that knows how to fully engage, leaves space for instinct and creativity, and enables the development and formation of ideas in an unique, authentic manner.

GROUTING

The authentic and rustic charm of old stone walls is created by the harmonious distribution and aggregation of spaces between stone and mortar.

The joint is a crucial component for the perfect out come of a decorative wall with Unistone Leonardo. The space between the stones should not be less than 3/4 c, to seem real as shown in Photo. A wall with very tight joints doesn’t look natural and over time will never appear to be authentic and realistic. For a good aesthetic result and in order to obtain a realistic effect, it is important to maintain the recommended with of the joints indicated for each item.

Therefore those who want tighter grouting joints with respect to the one recommended (conventional joint) we suggest to purchase a larger amount of stones for a maximum of 20% to a minimum of 10%. Please kindly refer to out technical department for assistance.

TYPES OF GROUTING

MORTARLESS

The stone are installed as close as possible to each other, leaving minimum space that can be filled with smaller pieces of stone

MINIMUM

The joints are partially filled with a small amount of mortar so as to highlight the shape of each and every stone in order to enhance a sense of depth.

MEDIUM

The mortar is applied up to about half the thickness of the stones, less rustic effect.

TO LEVEL

The joint is filled up to the same level as the stones. Elegant and rustic effect.

OVERLAPPING

The mortar fills the joints and slightly overlaps the surface of the stones. Recommended for very wide joints to give the masonry as antiqued effect.

GROUT MORTARS

We have created two-component Leonardo natural mortar for manufactured stone veneer after analysing traditional walls, and the wide variety of sands and mortars used.
Defining the colour and working the mortar into joints requires the same care that is applied to choosing the stone model, colour and type of installation.

The Leonardo finishing mortar contributes to the ‘time-worn’ charm of the UniStone covering in various ways, through its natural colour, the depth to which joints are filled, the grain size and the technique used to form joints, Thanks to its versatility it meets varied aesthetic requirements, from rustic charm to smooth textures, and enables long forgotten procedures with joints that are smooth and regular, sunken or flat, or finishes with a large grain, with wooden rods, and a rustic, cut, over-grouting or trowel technique.
Leonardo Grouting mortar is a major practical contribution to installing beautiful, functional walls.
